Round 5 of the 2026 Champions of the Future America season marked the series' first visit away from Winchester, California, with racers heading to Spring Mountain Karting Complex in Pahrump, Nevada. Double points and cash prizes raised the stakes, and the weekend delivered drama across every category — each producing a first-time winner.
In the headline Senior category, Lucas Freitas Melo (Nash Motorsportz) took his maiden victory after a race-long battle with Dan Duculescu and Sebastian Matyjaszczyk. Championship leader Carson Bishop endured a nightmare weekend, retiring on Lap 1 with mechanical issues. Despite this, Bishop retains a 33-point lead over Matyjaszczyk.
In another Senior class, Lachlan Postle (Formula Works) claimed his first win after championship leader Maddax Carlucci spun late in the race while battling for position. Carlucci still leads the standings, now just 28 points ahead of Kendall West.
The Mini/Junior category saw Sebastian Hauser initially cross the line first, but a post-race penalty handed Troy Ferguson his maiden victory. Hauser retains the championship lead, 25 points ahead of Braydon Wagner.
KA100 Senior produced a chaotic finish — post-race penalties for the on-track leaders handed Archer Eversman (Axis Kartsport) the win by a photo-finish margin over Johnie Stamps. Stamps remains championship leader, but Eversman has closed to within 17 points.
In the Masters class, newcomer Romain Thievin stunned on debut, overtaking Tony Gomez to win comfortably. Gomez still commands the championship with a 223-point lead.
Finally, Cayden O'Connor held off a dramatic last-lap wheel-to-wheel battle with championship leader Sergei Karamseili to take victory in the junior-most category, though Karamseili's points lead has extended to 233.
